Switzerland’s Bitcoin Association, the leading global industry organization working to advance Bitcoin SV, announces that it has created the Bitcoin SV Wiki, which is now online and live for public access.
The new Bitcoin SV Wiki is a joint initiative between Bitcoin Association and nChain, the blockchain technology firm responsible for the Bitcoin SV Node software which has restored the original Bitcoin protocol.
For too long, Bitcoin has been misunderstood – with early cypherpunk enthusiasts distorting its intended purpose to act as a lawful transparent ledger and in the process, incorrectly limiting the technical features of Bitcoin’s original protocol and economic incentive system. This has been accompanied with a proliferation of misinformation, with online content and media coverage presenting a false narrative as to just what Bitcoin’s true capabilities are and what it’s true potential is.
The new Bitcoin SV Wiki intends to correctly educate businesses and developers alike about the “Satoshi Vision” for Bitcoin, the way creator Satoshi Nakamoto designed it. The online resource will provide comprehensive information about Bitcoin – including everything from its underlying protocol, through to its scripting language, inherent technical capabilities, network design, and complex history. It will make clear that Bitcoin is so much more than just a digital currency, but rather, is a technology protocol for data that like the Internet, can transform how the entire world operates.
Developers in the blockchain space – whether working on Bitcoin already or considering it – will find the depth of content an invaluable resource when building applications. Those new to Bitcoin will quickly be able to gain a comprehensive understanding of the network and the technological and economic designs underpinning it.
Commenting on the launch, nChain’s Chief Technology Officer (and Technical Director of the Bitcoin SV Node project), Steve Shadders, said:
“Developers love to learn from wikis and online resources. This new Bitcoin SV Wiki will serve as a knowledge repository about the fundamental features and functionality of the Bitcoin network.”
“The information will be useful for anyone who seeks to gain a better understanding of Bitcoin: developers, start-up entrepreneurs, major enterprises, students and academics. We hope the Wiki will teach people about the true of power and genius of Bitcoin. Over time, we will invite others to provide input for updates and contribute to this resource for the Satoshi Vision.”
Bitcoin Association Founding President, Jimmy Nguyen, adds:
“The new Bitcoin Wiki was a significant undertaking and body of work by the teams at Bitcoin Association and nChain. I am thrilled that the site is now live for the public to read. At Bitcoin Association, our mission is to fulfill Bitcoin’s original vision laid out by Satoshi Nakamoto. The Bitcoin Wiki will be a valuable contributor to that mission by re-educating the world about Bitcoin’s true power to be both a peer-to-peer electronic cash system, and the global data ledger for enterprise.”
The Bitcoin SV Wiki is live now at wiki.bitcoinsv.io
The new Wiki adds to the online resources created by Bitcoin Association to educate the world about Bitcoin’s original “Satoshi Vision”. The Association also recently launched the BitcoinSV.com website, to serve as a master portal for information about Bitcoin SV, with resources and links useful for all types of audiences
