Bitcoin Association is the Switzerland-based global industry organization that works to advance business on the BSV blockchain. It brings together essential components of the BSV ecosystem – enterprises, start-up ventures, developers, merchants, exchanges, service providers, blockchain transaction processors (miners), and others – working alongside them, as well as in a representative capacity, to drive further use of the BSV blockchain and uptake of the BSV digital currency.

The Association works to build a regulation-friendly ecosystem that fosters lawful conduct while facilitating innovation using all aspects of Bitcoin technology. More than a digital currency and blockchain, Bitcoin is also a network protocol; just like Internet protocol, it is the foundational rule set for an entire data network. The Association supports use of the original Bitcoin protocol to operate the world’s single blockchain on BSV.

About the job

As director of operations and finance, you ensure the Association’s operational robustness and manage its international growth. You work in tight coordination with the Managing Director and the Board of the Association and its various vertical leads, from Technical Infrastructure to Marketing and Community or Legal. You carry the responsibility for administrative processes such as installing new SaaS software and tracking payroll data to ensure that the organization is complying with its budget. As Director of Operations and Finance, you will coordinate the work in partnership with many professional services providers, including accounting, banking, audit, and others.

 

Main tasks:

  • Managing teams of employees across multiple departments and regions to ensure that operations run smoothly;
  • Budget management and cost controlling
  • Oversee and evaluate day-to-day operations;
  • Ensuring that all departmental policies and procedures are followed;
  • High-level supervision of external accounting;
  • Manage the annual financial audit for the company;
  • Manage organizational structures, including documentation/contract management, memberships, organizational processes, and procedures
  • Coordinate finances and global banking and brokerage service providers of the Association
  • Work with in-house and external Legal Counsel
  • Assist with the coordination of the ongoing activities of a dynamic team active across the globe (especially in North America, Europe, and Asia)
  • Support human resource needs for Association staff and contractors
  • Execute special projects as requested
  • Involves international travel given the Association’s global activities
  • This role is reporting to the Managing Director and the Associations Executive Committee

 

Expected candidate’s profile:

  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership positions;
  • Experience gained within IT, technology, and telecom industries; preferably within blockchain or web3;
  • Proven leadership capability;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills;
  • Budget management skills;
  • Higher education in Finance, Legal, or Business Administration;
  • Fluent in English and German;
  • Based in Europe, preferably in Switzerland
