The second Bitcoin SV Virtual Meetup of 2021 was held on March 4, with the spotlight turned on the Americas region.

Founding President Jimmy Nguyen hosted the event, welcoming a lineup of experienced and innovative figures from across the digital asset community.

One-year Anniversary of Genesis Upgrade

On February 4, Bitcoin Association Founding President Jimmy Nguyen was joined by leading figures from across the BitcoinSV community on the one-year anniversary of the Genesis protocol upgrade, to discuss the impact on the ecosystem at large, as well as all of the latest industry news.

On February 4, Bitcoin Association hosted the first virtual meetup of 2021, with a focus on the individuals and enterprises based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Bitcoin SV Wales: Bitcoin & Mining

Bringing together developers and enthusiasts on October 7th, the Bitcoin SV Virtual Meetup for Wales centred its discussions on the changing relationship between developers, users and miners in the Bitcoin SV ecosystem, and the opportunities that emerge for enterprise-level applications. Featuring TAAL CPO Jerry Chan and Clearstream Technology Group CEO Paul Webb.

BSV Events and Meetups 2020 - Cambridge poster

Cambridge has quickly emerged as a hub for blockchain innovation in the U.K., with Cambridge University being the (unsurprising) focal point. Featuring Bitcoin Association Founding President Jimmy Nguyen, Robin Kohze, and Adam Bishop of the Cambridge Metanet Society, the BSV Virtual Meetup explored the extensive education and outreach of the Metanet Society, including a showcase of some of the exciting projects on Bitcoin SV.

Learn the latest developments in the Bitcoin SV community and collaborate with fellow BSV users in BSV Meetups!

The latest Bitcoin Association Meetup in London was a success and we talked to some participants on what they think are the benefits of holding meetups and their message to the BSV community.

nChain researcher Alex Mackay told the crowd who attended the London BSV Meetup that Miner ID would become increasingly central. “As we scale BSV and blocks get bigger, there will be a shift in the ratio of fees miners incur — from block rewards to transaction fees. Sometime in the future, mining subsidies will run out, and miners will have to support themselves through mining fees,” Alex Mackay said.
